What Small Clinics Need That Hospital EMRs Don't Give Them

Most clinical software is designed for institutions with an IT department. Most clinics don't have one.

A solo or small clinic needs the same structured, coded clinical record as a hospital — but cannot absorb the configuration overhead, integration engineering or IT staffing a hospital EMR assumes.

The right design target is closer to a single, sensible default that works on day one, with structured coding happening invisibly in the background rather than as a separate task the clinician has to perform.

This is a genuinely different product, not a stripped-down hospital system. Treating it as the latter is why so much clinic software goes unused six months after purchase.
